Eden's Coast and the Sea is the final movement of "The Monaro Suite" commissioned by The Bombala Schools Bands in 1991. John Judge, then a manual arts teacher and the band director and Bombala High School, was the driving force behind the ambitious project to commission three separate works that would be the musical depictions of parts of the Eden-Monaro region of south-eastern New South Wales.
Eden's Coast and the Sea is a programmatic work reflective of the seafaring nature of the south-eastern coastal communities of New South Wales, such as Eden, and also presenting musical images of the natural beauty of the coast and surrounding countryside.
