About Brian West
Brian West has been composing and arranging for young bands since developing an interest in this area of music education when studying at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music (Hobart) in the late 1970's.
Eleven years teaching music in high schools has enabled Brian to gain a first hand awareness of the needs of the young musician and the developing band.
Many of his original compositions for Young Band have now been published and his composition, The Spook, won the 1991 Brolga Music Composition Contest.
