Crest of Honor (Brass Band)
Arranger/Composer: David R. Gillingham
Item Code: 28660
Publisher: C. Alan Publications
Crest of Honor is a concert march that was written as a traditional march in a tertian (ABC) structure. However, the march differs from many marches in that the role of the horns is mostly melodic and they play no “afterbeat” rhythms. Also, the trio begins in the more difficult key of G-flat major. The title was inspired by the composer's fascination with English family “crests,” in particular the crest designed for the “Gillingham” family name.
