A Triumphal Procession
A Triumphal Procession
A stark fanfare and a warm chorale-like melody combine to create mood worthy of a royal entrance - A Triumphal Procession indeed. The piece opens with simple, almost primitive fanfare that echoes around the ensemble. This is followed by a stately theme played first by the woodwinds and then by the brass, and then a third time by the whole ensemble. All the while, short fanfare flourishes decorate the chorale theme. The piece finally concludes with a restatement of the complete opening fanfare.
